Back in the day

As a kid I was always been able to focus on one task for a long time. I could work for hours and while it was exhausting, I could get mounds of work done. Enter kids. Having kids leads one to become a multi-tasking queen. Dinner, mediating fights, changing diapers, working laundry, and keeping up with emails all get done simultaneously once children enter the scene. But I found that even though I could do so many things at once, I didn’t always get a lot done. Life with so many tasks became downright stressful. I longed for a single focus again. Once my kids became teens, giving me more time to get some things done, multitasking was ingrained in me. I now find it hard to just focus on a single task at a time.

How to

On a single-tasking day, you should choose a task that is important and requires your full attention. It could be anything from writing a report, studying for an exam, or working on a project. Once you have chosen your task, you should turn off all distractions, such as your phone, email, and social media notifications.

To make the most of your single-tasking day, it is essential to plan your day in advance. Set realistic goals for the day, break your task down into smaller chunks, and allocate specific time slots to each task. Take regular breaks to rest your mind and recharge your energy levels.

Benefits of single tasking

Single-tasking day can be a challenging but rewarding experience. By focusing on one task at a time, you can reduce stress, increase productivity, and achieve a sense of accomplishment by the end of the day.
