I thoroughly enjoyed Ladies Uncover a Secret by Robin Luftig.
This second book in the series maintained the deep friendship between Lily-Rose, Fiona, and Sugar while introducing a new element in Fiona’s past.
There are characteristics in each woman that I could relate to, making each very dear to me.
The mystery was well written and I loved the glimpses into Fiona’s growing-up years. The twist was amazing! Robin Luftig did a great job of weaving the story like a good magician – our attention is drawn elsewhere and then BAM! the twist appears seemingly out of nowhere. However, she laid the groundwork the entire time.
When the ladies sit around the fire I want to go build a fire in my own backyard and gather my neighbors to build the kind of friendship that Lily-Rose, Fiona, and Sugar have. Their relationship is so unique but also so enviable. Luftig is clear how the friendship grew, despite their differences and misconceptions, that one could easily follow the “blueprint” and create a loving and open friendship with our own community.
The part of the story that transformed me was the deep love each woman has for the other. Their love transcends culture, race, income, and personal background. They took the time to really get to know each other and they respect their differences. While they don’t always agree, they still encourage each other to be the best version of themselves that they can. These women make me want to be a better friend.
My Rating
Ladies Uncover a Secret is well written and reads very smoothly. I highly recommend it!
