Nonfiction Book Review: Made for this moment by Max Lucado

Last Updated on May 3, 2024 by Andrea

God made every person unique and for a purpose.

Each and every one of us is special and distinct in our own way. We each possess various attributes, traits, quirks, and qualities that make us stand out from the crowd. It is clear that God has taken careful effort to craft each one of us as individuals. We all have our own unique stories, journeys, and destinies. This concept of uniqueness is something we should all take time to celebrate and appreciate what makes us different from one another. Each bit of uniqueness was made to serve God and His people.

Max bases this book on the book of Esther. In classic Max Lucado style, he makes Scripture stories come alive while also opening our eyes to understanding both the culture at the time as well as how those ideas fit with today’s world.

In Made for this moment, Max encourages us to embrace our uniqueness and serve God with it.

Book Review: Made for this moment by Max Lucado. In this book we are called to be unique, as God made us, to serve His purpose

Embracing our uniqueness

We can all make a positive difference in the world around us, even when it’s challenging. Each of us has something special that we can bring to the table. When we do, we can be of service and make an impact in our own unique way. By exploring the areas where we are confident and have gifts for, we can discover how to use our uniqueness to create positive change in the world. This could be through volunteer work, charitable donations, or simply by engaging with others and showing kindness. Our potential is limitless if we only choose to harness it, according to Max.

By embracing our innate uniqueness and recognizing the beauty in our individual differences, we can unlock a great power. This power can be used to serve God however he calls us. When we embrace this knowledge and use it to foster positive relationships with those around us, we can create an even better world for everyone, according to His will.

Not only should we embrace our uniqueness as we reclaim our eternal identity as a citizen of heaven, but we can discover our role in God’s story by focusing on community.

Community

Community plays a powerful role in celebrating our individual uniqueness. We can create an environment where we can all appreciate one another’s differences and share in the joy of those distinctions. By coming together, we are able to foster a sense of belonging and support for each other. This connection promotes God’s love for each other and ultimately strengthens our sense of community.

It is important to remember that everyone has something unique and special to offer that should be appreciated. We should all strive to honor our own uniqueness, as well as the uniqueness of others. Sometimes, like Esther, our uniqueness is called out to help our community. When we recognize that everyone may is called by God, we can embrace the community of believers who are all doing what God calls them to do.
