Listening for God

I’ve been struggling lately. I didn’t listen for God to talk to me. While I have prayed about the direction for my website, I have also been feeling like I’m not doing what God wants me to do. At the same time, I’ve been reading about the Great Commission to go and tell the world about Christ. I want to tell people all that God has done for me.

When I was praying the other day, I felt God clearly tell me that I needed to fast my website and my social media while I wait for Him to talk to me and give me direction. So, I stopped posting and prayed.

God Speaks

To my delight, God was faithful, as He always is. He has been clear that while my professional expertise is in marriage and family success, and that I’ve been dedicated to writing about that, He wants me to move to talking about HIS faithfulness. I need to tell others all that God has done in my life and encourage others to listen for God to talk to them.

Now, He’s not calling me to be Chicken Little. He’s calling me to tell people about Jesus and be ready for the inevitable end. The time IS coming when Jesus will return, and we need to be ready.

As I posted here, I have been reading about end times. in the book What Happens Next. Max Lucado does an amazing job of explaining the timeline and significance of each event that we can expect. It makes me want to be ready! And It makes me want to ensure that everyone I know is ready. You can ready my book review here. There’s also a study available, if you are interested.
