Lunch date ideas & why you need one
I love lunch dates.
As someone who enjoys saving money, spending time with my spouse, and working through logistics, the lunch date is a WIN, even in the rain! 🥇 The photo below was taking right after a rain storm. We ate in the car while it rained, then snuck outside to watch the waves a bit.
Bonus:
Lunch dates take less time so they cost less in babysitting fees – and some babysitters have more availability during the day. Double bonus!
What does a lunch date look like?
We typically go to a sandwich shop or small local restaurant. I bring my list of topics and we have a nice quiet (kid-free) lunchtime to make decisions, come to agreement on issues like discipline and parenting planning, and generally find our selves on the same page. I’m a planner to this logistical planning time reduces my uncertainty, which makes me more relaxed, which makes me a better wife, making my husband much happier! See, it all works out.
How is a lunch date different from a night date?
Compare this to an equally wonderful night time date where I need to shave, dress nice, do my makeup and hair, and be ready for a late night that will (we hope) culminate in some “alone time,” as we call it. 😉 These dates are crucial for marriages, especially when they include intimate alone time. They also serve a very different purpose, though.
So, I encourage you to take a daytime date. Even just go for coffee, or a walk in the park. Bring your list and a joyful spirit. I think you’ll find you feed your marriage in a whole new way!
With love,
