Thanksgiving is here! I pray you have a wonderful day. I know the holidays can be tough…not everyone loves the family they were born into. Some, like me, have lost loved ones recently. Those losses make it hard to feel grateful and thankful today.

However, God loves you so dearly. Even when times are rough, He still loves you. The sun rose today.

Making Thanksgiving Special All Year

If it’s a rough day for you, I encourage you to find some beauty somewhere. Find a quiet place to just BE and enjoy the moment.

If it’s a happy day for you, that’s awesome. Get some pictures, embrace those you love, and share gratitude all day.

Imagine what our world would look like if we took today as the first day of a year filled with gratitude. Just think how the world would change. Not sure how to get started? Here’s a great way to focus on gratitude every day.

Traditions

What are your typical traditions for Thanksgiving? We watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and eat monkey bread. We spend time with family. For a traditional Thanksgiving dinner we have turkey my husband cooks on his Green Egg, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing (well, dressing, but you get the idea), green bean casserole, mashed butternut squash, cranberry relish, yeast rolls (homemade or Hawaiian), pumpkin pie, and apple pie.

Then tomorrow we eat Christmas cookies that I baked early, drink eggnog, put a classic Christmas movie on in the background, and decorate the house. I totally consider this an extension of our Thanksgiving celebration!

What Are Your Traditions?

I’d love to hear about your traditions. What do you do every year that you couldn’t live without? Did you add anything new this year? Tell us in the comments below.

Meanwhile, I’m about to get back to cooking. But before I go, thanks for reading along today. I’m glad you’re here. 🥰
