My son lives in another state while he’s in college and I miss him terribly. While I pray for him throughout my day, I always begin and end my day with special prayers for him. My good morning wishes with Bible verses to help me pray keep me grounded in God instead of worrying about him.

1. Start Your Day in the Name of the Lord
Reflect on Proverbs 18:10 — “The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”
Pray
a daily morning prayer thanking God for the perfect gift of a new day. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you see this morning as a good gift and an opportunity for good work in Jesus’ name.
Heavenly Father, thank you that every day is a new beginning and that I’m a new creation. Please help me keep my eyes on You all day and to see this day as a gift from You. Please be with my loved ones [name them] and guide their days, as well. I pray they feel your presence and appreciate the gift of this day for them. In Jesus’ name, Amen
2. Meditate on God’s Word for a Sound Mind and Peaceful Start
Focus on Philippians 4:7 — “The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Pray:
Invite the peace of God into your thoughts before checking messages or social media.
God, thank you for the peace that passes all understanding. I pray that the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart would be pleasing to you today. Help me organize my day around your Word that I would think about it and pray all day. I know keeping my mind on you is the only way I’ll have peace. Please help me to teach this to my family, so they can have your peace, too.
3. Let the Light of God Shine Through You
Remember Matthew 5:16 — “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
This verse is a powerful reminder that our good morning prayers are not just for us—they prepare us to spread the good news of the kingdom of God.
Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for your love and care. Help me reflect Your glory and the love of God to everyone I meet today, but especially to my family. Filly my heart with Your Spirit to be kind and gracious to people today.
4. Trust God’s Faithfulness in Times of Trouble
Read Psalm 46:1 — “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Even during the most difficult times, hold on to the Lord’s great love and His steadfast love that never fails. He will never let you down. That doesn’t mean bad times won’t come – they will. But God will be your strength in those times.
Pray:
Dear God, I trust You are a mighty warrior who will protect me and guide me through this day. Do the same for my loved ones, too, please. Be my strength when I’m weak and be with us all day to help us when trouble comes. I love you and want my life to be dedicated to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
5. Embrace the Lord’s Mercies and New Beginnings
Lamentations 3:22–23 — “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his mercies never fail. They are new every morning.”
Pray:
Dear Lord, Each morning You offer me a fresh start. You make me a new creation and You refresh my Spirit. Please do the same for my family and friends. Help us all to trust you, to be grateful for new beginnings, and to embrace the beauty of each day. You are the God of hope. Thank you for restoring, renewing, and filling my day with great delight and purpose, according to Your plans. In Jesus’ name, Amen
